The T-shirt under the blazer is not a new look by any means. However, pay attention to a couple of subtleties in this particular interpretation. First, note the fit of the jacket. It’s a tailored fit (otherwise known as a ‘closer fit’). This adds a level of maturity and sense of style. Second, notice the optional footwear. You can go for a bit more casual with the all black tennis shoes, or you can maintain the allure of the ‘dressy’ appearance with a clean square toe simple leather shoe (the square toe was picked for a reason. It plays off the square watch.). Also notice the black stainless steel ring. Black stainless steel is a sleek and modern material that is being seen more and more in the fashion world (particularly on men’s jewelry). This also plays off the watch, which notably mixes both metal and leather. As a bonus, consider topping the look off with a classic fedora (for a younger vibe, ‘break it off’ to the side or set it slightly back on the head). Let the world know you’re a dapper gentleman with impeccable style.

Jacket over the tee
Saturday, February 28th, 2009We love Evisu ^o^
Saturday, February 28th, 2009No thought required.
Thursday, February 26th, 2009Oxford shirt/Pants/Watch.Throw on a pair of solid shoes (depending on watch/pant color. usually a shade of black/white/brown or gray.) and go face the world. Make your statement with the watch. No thought outfit. Any season. Anywhere.

*Note, no need to stop at just the watch. This is just a base. Kind of like play-do, from this you can create anything! However, with this outfit, you’re guaranteed a fresh look instantly (like with the shoes in ‘update to the white tee’)!
Summer Semester
Thursday, February 26th, 2009When attending summer classes, you don’t always have to rock shorts. Try the gray khaki perhaps (still breathable for the higher temp). And since it’s summer, don’t be afraid to throw some island/coastal flavor in the mix with a splash of seashell or coral (note the necklace). Also, be aware that subtle detail is always in style (for example, the cuff and collar of the shirt or the “80’s purple” lettering and inner tongue of the nike’s ). Show your wardrobe some summer lovin’!

Let's all go to the movies!
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009This is a great example of my view of how one can incorporate pop culture cinema into an outfit. Notice a familiar color scheme? Kill bill and game of death are a couple of films that are recalled to mind with the yellow and black colorway. But notice that there’s no t-shirt with bruce’s face on it, nor is there a hoodie who’s back is plastered with a screenprint of uma thurman holding a katana. You can still dress like your favorite character and be slick about it. One more thing: too much of a … good thing is often in bad taste. Don’t blind people by channeling ‘big bird’ from head to toe. If you go bold up top, keep it understated below and vice versa.

What you love
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009Dolce & Gabbana jewelry for men
Saturday, February 21st, 2009As a modern man of style, I love simplicity with a splash of boldness. Not as much ‘flash’ as many of my contemporaries. For that reason, I love dolce & gabbana jewels for men! It remains unique without losing masculinity or fashionably relevant credibility. To sound inexcusably advertisement-like: “I am the modern man. I am D&G jewels.”
Black on Black
Saturday, February 21st, 2009The subtle 'slap'.
Friday, February 20th, 2009I personally love seeing the lady on Michigan ave in the casual or dressed up casual attire only to find as I come closer that those white gold hoops are at least 2cts each and that pink ring is actually a sapphire and diamond band valued at $10k or more! The subtle flash of opulence on a woman can be as sexy as self-confidence if done right!
