Almost the weekend but not quite, thursday kind of sucks most weeks. Why? However, you’re meeting with the hubby (at least my wife does) for coffee at starbucks and you’re going out with him later for dinner so you still need to be your gorgeous self! Casual friday is quite possibly the greatest invention of the corporate era! Now you get to show off that street style you’ll be rocking this weekend. Start off with the off-the-shoulder tee above and pair with a wide belt to match the brown in the top. You can really go with light or dark denim for this one and no, your purse does not have to match your belt. For the feet, sandals, heels, tenis, whatever! As long as it’s compatible with the rest of your look, go for it! Hats are a bonus too. Jewelry? The bigger the better. Chunky, geometric, flashy, you name it! Bold is boss! Ok, since I’ve literally laid out your entire week, there should be no reason for you ladies to look like angela from The Office. Each day is just one more opportunity for you to demonstrate to everyone else that the workplace is your personal runway, no matter the workload. Furthermore, you don’t even need to stop by la casa pa’ cambiar before meeting for dinner or drinks! Business can be beautiful.

Top:

The black tee is a tricky thing to pull off. Faded is a ****in’ fail. Why not try charcoal first instead? It’s dark yet resists fading. And here’s a tip when you’re ready to go black (and thus never go back), wash the garment inside-out, whether denim, button-down, tee, or whatever else. This preserves the dark color. Gray isn’t gloomy. This fitted button-down brings a Cary Grant cool to your summer wardrobe. Combine with indigo denim, similarly dark shorts, or slacks and finish the look off with a modern thin tie. $77 @ 80’s purple.

Bottom:

Supra really came correct this season. Their ultra popular skytop has been done up in canvas and is fresh out of the oven just in time for summer. Huge, gold and belligerent. The Nixon diver is mad waterproof and has a nuclear glow in the summer sun. It’s just good to show off once and a while. $448 @ watchismo.

Thin and modern, this orange, boldly checked tie is a nice splash of color for your muted shirt, whether charcoal or linen. $72 @ 80’s purple.

Absolutely no guy on the planet should be caught in cargos, flip-flops, and tank tops this summer and this post just gave all of us PLENTY of reasons not to.  Ditch the flip-flops for canvas, the cargos for indigo denim shorts, and the tank top for a vintage tee or short-sleeve button down. If you’re truly a grown man, make sure you look the part at all times. 

Day:

Sir YES SIR! This military blazer is super light which is perfect for summer, yet gives just enough substance to the outfit. Perfect now and underneath the peacoat coming in fall!

During the day, I like to pair my light blazers with a lighter (or, if going pastel, brighter) color like this pink check. Make sure you keep the shirt solid or if going patterned, keep the pattern tight like this one.

Night:

This black cotton blazer is mad light and perfect for rolling the sleeves in the event of a warmer summer night.

For the night, swap the khaki colored blazer for a black or charcoal one (of the same light weight material), and change the shirt to one like this plum. Dark. Dangerous. Dapper.

Only dark wash denim is acceptable. Day or night. Leave the light wash in the closet.

Black and white understated kicks. They’re beautiful and perfectly highlight any lightweight blazer in any color. Rock some supras like these (or those sexy skytops), some pro-keds, or something similar and you’re set. Day or night.

The accessories are up to you but use them to nicely throw splashes of boldness into the ensemble. The light blazer is a great way to maintain the layered aesthetic of the cooler seasons right now when the temperatures are higher. Creativity is always encouraged so let’s light up the summer baby!

Some dark, vintage wash, distressed jeans are a perfect companion to our ‘Modern rebellion’ aesthetic. The distressed look ties into the jacket like nothing else and the dark wash perfectly balances the neon of the tee. Also on sale for $19.90 @ hollister.

Us:

Why not begin with a knit wool sportcoat by Mr. Lauren. This is a tailored, modern fit version of the knit blazer we saw in my previous Le Mans post. Fellas

Instead of white, we’re going to start with a salmon button-down. The lightly washed, reddish hue goes perfectly with not only the gold accessories we’ll be featuring, but the fresh vibe of the warmer seasons.

To maintain the fresh aesthetic, why not rock a linen suit? It’s lightweight and always up to date. If you’re feeling more casual, iron out the pleats in front and ditch the jacket. Either way, you’ll be confidently stylish regardless of the venue.

Aviators = hotness. Period.

The TK Society’s are only for those that ‘own the swag supermarket’, don’t try these if ‘you just a bag boy’. Regardless of confidence, have the linen slacks come over the tops. The reason? Ladies

There’s never a problem with the simple black dress. We’ll start with this timeless staple that should be part of every chica’s wardrobe.

Since it’s spring and about to be summer, I chose a beautiful Jimmy Choo sandal for you ladies. Paired with the above dress, you’re on well on your way!

Enamel and gold always make a great pair. This ring is no exception.

When considering the following options, be sure to choose only one. You don’t want to rock the watch AND the bracelet. Asymmetry will always put you a rung above everyone else fashion-wise. And we never want to overdo things with gold anyway.

Chunky? Sure, but who cares? Throw a little ‘boyfriend’ into your look for a change! Or, if you’re not a ‘watch’ chick, try this:

This geometric bangle has a combination of gold and silver, perfect to go with the Choo’s from before! And it breaks up the gold a bit.

Ladies

This tailored button-down is perfect for nearly any occasion! From the office to the barbecue, it just works! Pair with the coral bag below and you can even hit the beach without losing a step.

This option is of course for the casual setting exclusively. When the temps hit the extremes, sometimes even the capris are stifling. Roll the sleeves on the button down mentioned earlier and pair these with the tenis below to complement the coral/gulf blue color scheme.

These onitsuka tiger flats will be comfortable for you ladies and still look mad fly with the outfit we’ve just assembled. The sportiness of the kicks will perfectly balance the more reserved aestethic of the button-down. Either of the heels below will be just as hot if you want to ’sex’ up the look a bit.

Gents

This tee, although long-sleeved, is lightweight and therefore perfectly suited for the warmer seasons. Depending on sleeve position, it can serve us well day or night.

White denim is great and all, but why not go for a linen colored variety? It’s not as bright as white and blends perfectly with the tee above and nearly any shoe choice.

It seems that Gourmet can do no wrong! Their super unique L’Uno is even hotter in red canvas! And since we all know how comfortable canvas is in the spring and summer, there should be no hesitation on copping these joints.

Everybody knows about my love affair with onitsuka tigers. These highlight all the Le Mans colors in a subtle yet stylish manner. And the cup heel is great for motorsport.

Getting your grown man on is always a way to speed past the other drivers in this race called style. This is a gorgeous super-light jacket that you can rock with the above outfit and if you like, throw on a button-down underneath, and trade the linen colored denim for an indigo pair.
